Our online community dedicated to the study of Japan and its captivating history is a space designed to encourage vibrant discussions and enriching dialogues. We value and promote open exchanges of ideas while fostering a civil environment where all members can share and learn. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we kindly ask you to adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Embrace Civility: We encourage open and candid discussions and debates. However, all communications should be respectful. Differences of opinion are not only acceptable but welcomed. Please refrain from personal attacks, violent language, threats, explicit content, hate speech, derogatory comments, or any form of offensive behavior.

  2. Stay on Topic: Keep your comments, questions, and contributions relevant to the ongoing discussion or the subject at hand. This platform is not suitable for unsolicited personal or commercial solicitations, advertisements, or unrelated content.

  3. Mind Your Content: We expect all content shared to be appropriate and respectful. Any inappropriate, offensive, pornographic, or objectionable content will be removed, and users engaging in such behavior may face consequences, including being banned from the community.

  4. No Spam: Please avoid repetitively posting the same message across multiple discussions or sections. We want to ensure a diverse range of conversations for all members.

  5. Adhere to the Law: Encouraging or participating in any illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Such behavior will result in immediate removal from the community.

  6. Respect Copyright and Trademarks: Posting copyrighted material beyond what is protected under fair use is not allowed. Do not present someone else's trademark as your own.

  7. Be Accurate: Creating multiple accounts is discouraged. If your circumstances change, please update your existing account rather than creating new ones. Let us know if you need assistance merging duplicate accounts.

  8. Value Privacy: Respect personal information and privacy, both your own and that of other members. Refrain from sharing any private or sensitive information without consent.

  9. Speak Up: While our community team does monitor posts, we appreciate your help in maintaining a safe environment. If you come across content that violates our community guidelines, please flag it for our review.

  10. Ownership of Content: Understand that any comments or content you share on this platform are your responsibility. The views expressed by educators, explorers, or community members do not necessarily represent the views of the Society or its partners.
