MAPS OF JAPAN
Maps convey tremendous amounts of information in an easily palatable format. They are how we represent the physical places that we inhabit and are capable of putting even the most familiar areas into context.
HONSHU
"The Main Land," is the heart and soul of the Japanese islands. Stretching across the archipelago from north to south, this island accommodates over 80% of the country's population
SHIKOKU
the smallest among the four main islands, rests along the southwest shore of Honshu. Shikoku's name signifies its historical division into four provinces, and today is known for its Buddhist Pilgramage circumnavigating the island.
KYUSHU
Affectionately referred to as "The Nine Provinces," derives its name from the nine historical provinces that have existed on this heart-shaped island.
